Boston Code Camp: Vibers vs. Doomers: The AI Coding Debate

I’m thrilled to share that Josh Drumm and I will be presenting at Boston Code Camp 39 on November 22nd!

Our session – “Vibers vs. Doomers: The AI Coding Debate” – is going to be a fun one:

Is AI the future of software engineering or the beginning of its downfall? In this lively, debate-style session, two developers take opposite sides: the Viber who champions vibe coding, rapid prototyping, and agentic engineering, and the Doomer who sees only risk, fragility, and the erosion of craft. We’ll spar over speed, security, code quality, and the future of developer careers, while letting the audience decide which camp makes the stronger case. Expect arguing, laughs, and some uncomfortable truths. Bring your best questions and challenges, we’ll tackle them head-on in real time.

We’re taking extreme sides for fun, so please don’t take either of us too seriously. But we will be making some solid points on both ends of the AI spectrum: from the “ship it fast with agents” camp to the “we’re losing the craft” crew. You’ll have to come out to see who’s the Viber, and who’s the Doomer!

If you’re in the Boston area on November 22nd, come hang out, heckle us a bit, and join the discussion. Boston Code Camp is a free event, with tons of great speakers and content
